Both front album covers are showing an artistic abstract image done through editing or painting. For example in Red Hot Chili Peppers they have used an naked outline of a women's figure done creatively in matalic blue , red, purple and light grey colours to resemble their colour theme. As opposed to nirvana they have also used a naked photo of a human figure, however its a baby swimming under water , but the the colours that are used are light blues , dark blue's and turquoise. Both alums have a similar colour theme and both seem to supply similar imagery as a theme, because they both have human figures naked on the front cover of their album. The fact that the band is not on the front cover of the album could suggest that they want their consumers focus on their music rather than their looks or what their image looks like. However on the album Red Hot Chili Peppers the band members can only be seen on the back cover, (which reflects how they want to be seen as less important) . This is to grab the consumers attention and draw their focus onto the band themselves and the brand new product that is released. As opposed to Nirvana they have chosen a more simple yet eye gripping font. They have put the artists name on the bottom left in capitals. This will bring his target audience's focus to his name since they are in big capitals which conveys the importance in the name rather than the image of the man behind the music. The sub heading (Nevermind) has a correlation with the underwater sea heme since the font is done in a wavy circular shape style. ( As if the the font was a sea wave) . this creates a clear relationship and link between the whole overall theme of water and waves in Nirvana's Album.
