Here are some notes that i wrote down from at our School a producer called phill Tidy came in and talked to us about his career and accomplishes in the music video industry.  Phil tidy is a music video producer and owns a production company called Squire. he has produced music videos such as the Spice girls, Sugar babes, Shakira and 50+ shows featuring at the BFI. He is the Co-Curate and producer of BUG. He has also worked with music videos that combine animation in the music video.

He explained the purpose of a music video by explaining the true definition , he had said it is a commercial song , originally when artists couldn't tour promotional , then became more artistic , artists are looked upon as products to market themselves. used to be more of a special event when a music video came out but now less so because of how easy it is to access all the different digital platforms. music videos came along in the early 80's and unblocked a film industry and was a creative playground of experimentation and fun and proving individual talent.

when having an idea for making a music video you do a treatment a reference , budget and time frame. and when you win a contract with a record company , you think about the insurance the time and schedule. when it comes to budgeting you have to think about how much things cost ? ,  equipment , toilets food. you have to have common sense when it comes to planing and be able to have the skill of compromising and negotiating.
