Prelim part 2

Editing the Prelim

we used a apple computer to edit. i helped edit daisy's Prelim since i had not recorded my own prelim at the time. we started off looking at all the camera shoots so from wide shot first then from over the head , and extreme close ups. A these different shots had been acted from the begging so we could easily pick and choose which camera angles we liked best and what suited the scene.
We starting off as putting in different shots of daisy J and, Daisy but found that the whole edit was very random at times and not fluid ,so When editing we would make sure that there was at least 2 seconds of film before hand when putting in a new specific angle so the whole edit would look fluid.looking at the footage we could have made longer pauses on the dialogue and on the edit so the audience can really take in the actors emotive response.

we also could have used more of the material that we had filmed since our edit may have been over cut out. when it comes to editing our thriller i will insit that we have more reaction pauses and maybe more emphasis on a door or an object to create mystery and suspense. Also maybe a we could put in a music to add to the vibe of a thriller, and make sure we use extreme close up in our edit to really capture every emotion. in this Prelim we did two different edits because we wanted to choose which edit we liked best , so the first one we did differently because it was our first time than the second we felt was better because we had gained more of an understand towards editing. overall when it comes to doing the thriller my approach will be an opportunist approach will want to create an edit that creates mystery to the whole thriller and i would like to experiment with the camera by using abstract angles and shots.
