Prelim part 1
In our group we filmed 2 actors performing a short dramatic scene. we moved the camera into different angles creating a close up of their faces and a more distant angle. we first shot the camera from a long wide shot (point of view shot) and filmed the whole monologue from that angle. Then we changed to a overhead view point (still in the 180 degrees area unwise it would look like we swapped sides) we started off filming Andrew from the overhead shot and filmed the whole monologue from that view point , then we decided we wanted a close up so we filmed it again but more in extreme close up so we could capture every reaction. We did the same over head view shot to for the other actor Adrian.afterwards we decided we wanted a close up of the door slamming whilst Andrew left the stage so we filmed an extreme close up of the door slamming for effect when it comes to editing.
I learn about different angles of filming and the rules of having the camera for example when someone wanted to take the camera you would have to say 'yours' and the person who wanted it say 'mine' this secures the the camera doesn't get dropped or damaged through grabbing.
One of the problems that we had to overcome was that we had shot the whole monologue from 'point of view angle' but then when we did overhead shot we could not remember which hand Andrew used to open the door with so we had to redo the point of view shot to show that Andrew was using the same hand to open the door.We also had to take the over the head shot a couple of times for both Adrian and Andrew because we could not decide if wanted an extreme close up or just a close up so we were deciding on what looked best. If we could change something now we could have done a side profile view shot just to see on what looks best , also we could have left a longer pause for Adrian's reaction when Andrew walk out the door on him, just to create tension .
