Target audience

Our Target Audience As a group we debated what sort of audience we were aiming for as a group we came up with the following: Males (15-19) Interests: video games, action movies, war movies   We chose males, as they are the largest demographic of video game enthusiast, and they are most likely to be interested in this genre . We chose the age group, as we can then make the movie a 15/18. This age group is ideal for action films with graphic violence and guns etc. We think that boys with the above stated interests will enjoy our film due to the fact that they are the prevalent themes in the thriller.

final idea step by step outline

step by step outline of final idea                         Sequence starts with player running forward, armed with a rifle. We can see one other player running to the right of him. (Shot is taken from behind him) ·                      Several shots of the two players running, from different angles whilst tracking. ·                      Next, we see player  #2 get shot in the head. He dies and collapses, main character stops, waits- then we see the player who just died, runs into the frame and takes his dead bodies’ weapon. Alternatively, main character keeps running, but looks at body, sees it disappear.  Later see him again (slowly glitches back into the “game”) - conveying that the player who ...

Feedback

pitch Feedback  cut out someone typing  need hook, red , catch  need world building moment, and three separate acts  need a resolution in mid-like potential savior  look at gamer movie-use it for plot arc mad skirmish to begin look more like a TV show  have the opening as the video game ,so you don't see the killer - don't see the real world until the end, or not even revealing the hacker make the battle more like a game-like tea bagging, or a character walking into a wall or using npcs to convey that the battle is within a game need action sequence to start  someone gets hurt in battle but actually hurts the player in real life, not revealing so much in the opening sequence  some players when they get shot don't actually get hurt, but our MC gets a nosebleed: "shit how did this happen" ect reveal hacker at the end  needs more ambiguity - more mystery, more like an opening  3v3 battle  friends playing a game ...

Reflection

Image
Reflection In our group I think our thriller idea as a group has translated well into an actual film since it connotes the sinister effect of a thriller. As a group through the process we developed the idea making it more understandable towards the reader so the overall story line mimics across in the opening scene. At first we thought that we were cramming the whole story in one opening sequence which made the thriller idea hard to understand , however now we have worked on it and shorted the length of the opening sequence my condensing the information to create questions, answers, and mystery. To make the idea clear to the viewer we have made the idea simpler and less complicated since we only get the opening sequence to convey a taste of the narrative. In the opening scene we plan that the male gamer gets shot in the game and shot in real life since whatever happens in the game happens in real life which we feel creates mystery and tension throughout because the game fee...

Contact sheet  Contact Sheet In one of our group meetings, we exchanged phone numbers, email addresses and school timetables, so we could find potential times where we could meet. We arranged this on our whatsapp group so we could communicate , and tell each other when we were potentially free.

Story outline for our thriller

Image
Story outline of our Thriller We are using a horror game setting as the setting for our thriller.  We see a male actor walking through forest/horror game landscape. We see him get more and more scared until he realises he is just in a game and relaxes, until he is suddenly killed/dies because he is attacked in the game. We now go back to the real world and see him dead on the floor, blood coming out of his ears- the VR headset still on his face.

2 test shoot

Image
Test shoot 2 As a group we decided that we wanted to do another test shoot since we wanted to  alter the structured the opening scene and adjust the narrative  So we did a spider diagram linking to different possible alternatives for a good opening . We Altered the narrative as a group , so now it is about a man who is obsessed with video games however a someone hacks onto the video game giving the game a virus which affects him psychologically and mentally you see the man go into turmoil. The hacker ends up killing the man. In the test shoot we brought in a gaming headset to convey the gaming image . Daisy , Me and Andrew were the actors and sometimes when I was not needed to act I would help with the filming. Chris On the other hand this time just did the filming. We recorded...

Test Shoot 1

Image
Test shooting 1 Even though we did not have 1 of our team mates on the day of the test shoot , the test shoot still went exceedingly well. We worked as a group and all put our part into this thriller to make it work. On our iphones we did long shot view of the computer to resemble the character watching TV We had over the head view to get an insight from the characters perspective We used close up at the end on Chris holding the game device and dropping it to create a dramatic effect  Andrew and Chris , were acting and I was videoing when it was just chris acting in a particular scene Andrew would help with the shooti

Dilemma on day of the test shoot

Image
Dilemma!!!!on the Day of the test shoot!! On the day of the test shoot we had realized that Daisy was shooting for a music video , this shook us because the thriller idea was heir’s and we needed her guidance through shooting.

Pre-production test shoot

Image
Pre-production test shoot We got put into our groups to work on the test shoot thriller. Me Andrew , Daisy and Chris decided that we wanted to go for Daisy’s idea. Daisy’s idea was about a man who is obsessed with video games and he can’t tell the difference between reality and the game and he ended up killing people in real life in order to gain life on the game. To get prepared for the test shoot be decided to bring in virtual reality headset game for the shoot to show in the shoot that Chris (who acted as the murder) was playing a game. We didn’t organised  any specific actors to be on the day of the test shoot since we decided that Andrew and Chris (who is in our group) could do the acting in the shoot and me and daisy could do the filming on our phones . We decided to use our phones to do the test shoot. We decided to communicate about the thriller on Whatsapp , and created a little group to discuss our thriller idea’s

Developed Thriller idea 1

Image
Developed thriller idea 1 From hearing the feedback from my class mates and teacher, It has helped me develop my opening scene  and make improve it. Opening scene : A shot of the girl moving into one of the rooms and then the camera focuses  on the bed with her friend on the bed completely intoxicated on drugs and illegal highs the girl is tied to the bed and looks almost unconscious the camera schemes across the whole bedroom been living in. showing the poor filth of the room and the poor conditions her friend has ti live in  The camera then moves and focuses on the girl reactions to her friend and what human tra ffiking did to her through prostitution , the scene ends with her bewildered and frightened react ion and expression on   the girls face.

feedback for thriller

Feedback for thriller idea 1 (Lost) Feedback for first idea(lost thriller): It wasn’t clear when the opening sequence starts because I told the whole story so they audience became confused. The idea needs more tension created in the opening sequence. It could potentially be too long for a opening sequence, but if I focus on either the girl or the guy then more tension would be created and it would be shortened down. The opening scene should be nonlinear.   It sticks with conventions but if I condense it down then it will be a lot easier to see the genre which is thriller. They like it a lot its very (Taken) inspired style , but there Are two different levels as a producer its great but at a teacher it terrifies Mike because how do we film something like that with it being appropriate and using students or using a teacher because it does need to be horrific and replicate how terrible this is and replicate how tension can be created but there is only so far you can push...
