Conducting a focus group 



The point of a focus group is to develop and improve upon your product. It allows you to have direct line to your targeted audience  and understand their specific needs and what they want / look for with your product. it is a great way to gain constructive feedback before the consumer buys the product.It is also a fresh outside view which will help the producer of the product construct it in the best way it needs to be. when having a focus group it is best to have a small audience that you are targeting too, and have a friendly interaction with them , and make sure to involve everyone. Make sure to have the product (close to finish product) and make sure to document the feedback so it is accurate.

It is best to test your product at this point because it is still durable to make small changes that are able to be made. No waisted money as still designing. And lastly it is a great way to get your target audience ready for them to test before hand . The best way to feedback for the digipak is to print a copy or everyone to see in front of them . And to truly understand your focus group make sure to elaborate what they say even further, expand their feedback and the depths of it. And the best way to prepare for feedback for the website it to prepare your questions before hand. Have the website on a big projector in front of everyone to see clearly. Or ask them to bring laptops to be prepared. and the person who makes the website is sure to explain every intricate detail on there. and the best way to prepare for feedback for the music video, is to bring in an international hardrive or memory stick ,make sure to present it on a big screen projector. and make sure to not make questions personal. Also make sure the questions are open questions not questions that you cannot change on the music video for example if you asked "do you like the lead singer as an actor" that is personal and if they don't like the lead singer - well thats not helpful ( you cant change that ) the music video is already filmed and the actors that you have used cannot be changed.  Your aim is to ak questions of what can be changed or slightly adjusted , not (re-doing it ).

make sure to start the website and digipak first , so that the focus group can guess the genre and style before watching lastly the music video since it is more helpful towards the producers of the product to ask if they have given off the specific genre type in the website and digipak. And lastly make sure to not argue with the consumers opinion or feedback or take it personally , take it as constructive feedback. there is no need to defend yourself or change your whole entire idea. if they are not keen on a colour ask why ? be interested (generally) in what they have to say and see it as useful. Make sure to video record the whole entire section with your ficus group so that you have accurate feedback and remember what has been discussed and said.
