Oyinda's Hair  Oyinda our female black ethnicity model in our music video has black African Caribbean hair. Since her hair is different from the others we decided to have her hair simply braided to represent her own beauty which we style for the other models too. We decided to have her hair in Braids because black hair is hard to manage and since i have black hair too i know how to style it to look its best for our video so braids would be the way forward!

In our music video the lead singer is the same person in the band with the model. However he has two separate costumes which create two separate style and looks for him. To keep that correlation of him being the same person we have added jewellery such as rings that he wears throughout the music video. This will help make it clear to the audience exactly who he is. I think a gold colour ring would compliment our lead singer well since it will stand out more so it brings the audiences focus to him and the ring so therefore the audience will see that association with the lead singer in different scenes of the music video 

As we were talking through our set design, as a group we realised that our main lead singer had not enough things to do in our 2 elements which is with the models and when he his by himself. so as a group we thought of other possible ideas of what he could do within those to scenes. We had originally thought of an idea of him shuffling cards or counting money or throwing a knife but then those certain actions can become to repetitive and boring and they do not relate to the narrative of our music video.Also if we had  money it would not look realistic if it was fake money, but if it was real money it would not be durable since we wouldn't have a large amount he could shuffle with or play with. We decided upon adding a cane and a chair as a prop because as it goes well with his costume and helps create a visual representation of him being classy and sophisticated. Majestic Casual is the company who owns the right to the song we would like to use for our music video (Quick Musical Doodles by Two Feet) so we asked for their permission.

Sizes for cast   So that we can order costumes for cast we asked the whole cast in person for there sizes 

Band Costume for the band we would like the band to look casual and comfortable (like everyday stylish wear) we would like to have a retro /urban and Indie look to them as well. We decided upon having the band in a simple grey t-shirt that we would by online and and some blue jeans. while the lead singer will wear a white top instead of grey so that he is highlighted and stands out. By having the lead singer in a white top will also straight away example his importance to the audience and the audience's focus will mainly be on him. it also relates to the 'the star theory' since it makes the audience's attention focus on the lead singer and know he is highlighted as the main lead singer , since he is not blending in with the others. The lead singer has 2 costumes one which is the suite and tie another which is the casual white T-shirt with jeans. Model's Footwear  On the group chat we sent over possible footwear ideas  that the models may be able to wear in our music video. We did this because we wanted many possible options on footwear for the models. However we have definitely decided on having high heels for the models to make them look tall and lean which is the effect we would like. Also the models footwear/ look and style relates to the 'star theory' through to the focus being on their image and sex appeal. by having high heels it will enhance their apearence and flattering looks and create a 'sexy' stereotype image that we want for the models overall exterior. Here are some shoes that we collected from our shoe wardrobe that we thought were appropriate for the models foot wear.

Today i emailed Doug Quinn to ask him if he could lend us a cane and a pocket watch as a prop for our music video 

Individual targets set - hair of models and costume of lead singer with models   looking at hair styles for our models as a group we have discussed that we would like to keep the hair natural and simple. I find that we should have the hair naturally falling down but add some natural waves of curls in the hair. Here i have found a youtube tutorial of how to do natural waves in hair. We chose a natural route for hair because we would like a natural beautiful look on the females rather than plastered with makeup and hair spray. However we like the idea of having one of the models to have a sprayed sleek back look were the hair falls behind only on her back.we want to aim to keep the hair as simple as possible, and also style the hair to suite each individual model. Responding to further feedback  Group chat photo from whatsapp  As for models we have decided to put the models in different coloured dresses than just black - since the colours will reflect and contrast well inside the dark room. here on the group chat i sent a photo of me wearing a dress that one of the models could wear in the music video. The reason why we changed the idea was because we wanted the models to stand out in the dark room more and be their own individual than just blending in. It also relates to why we picked different ethnicity's as we want each and every individual model to represent their own beauty rather than blending in . having the different colours will create a great contrast between them all and will make them all stand out! We have also thought about different materials that reflect light such as 'Latex, silk, velvet, leather and and shiny fabrics that reflect light in the dark room. Reflection on Feedback Notes On reflection we have all agreed on the swinging lighting effect of the chandler above - the chandler wont be seen its self,  but however the swinging of the lighting effect that is given off will be seen. We chose to go with this form of lighting instead of a gobo black and white flashy effect , because it has more music visualisation- than having flashing lights, because our chosen song is quiet slow and heavy and we feel the slow chandelier effect will have more direct correlation with the music. it also creates a more sinister atmosphere. i feel as though the simplicity of this idea will work since it is more practical and creates the mood we look for. We Also liked the idea of having either a grey or dark blue brick wall and a foreground for the Band and model set.
